【SEED】 One-day Mindfulness Training for Kindergarten Teachers
The Bodhi Love Foundation recently held a mindfulness training workshop for over fifty principals and teachers participating in the “SEED Program” at the Regala Skycity Hotel.
The one-day workshop was rich in content, featuring a series of mindfulness-based training sessions led by Dr. Lau and other instructors. They taught the principles of mindfulness and explained the course curriculum. Principals and teachers also engaged in group exercises to prepare for teaching the program in their classrooms. Participants expressed a deeper understanding of the program, and teachers who trialed it with K2 full-day classes were pleased to see that even non-Chinese speaking students were attentive, boosting their confidence in the program.
In 2024, the SEED Program received funding from the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIEF) and support from the Impact Incubator. Targeting kindergarten students in low-income areas, the program aims to foster positive thinking, improve psychological and emotional health, and enhance their ability to cope with poverty-related stress. The BLF is collaborating with the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Department of Psychology to evaluate the program’s impact and effectiveness.

Since 2021, the BLF has been piloting the “SEED Program,” which uses mindfulness-based learning to cultivate mindfulness in teachers and students. The program aims to develop key skills in young children, such as self-awareness, empathy, and interconnectedness, planting seeds for their inner transformation and helping them grow into their best life paths. The “SEED Curriculum” offers professional mindfulness training for kindergarten teachers interested in bringing the program into their classrooms and assists schools in implementing the curriculum.
